Every Saturday night, a young opossum musician leads the ball with his Cajun band at the Fais Dodo Thibaudeau deep in the bayou. In the audience, a beautiful young marsupial gradually succumbs to the charm of this little dobro player who looks like Zorro. That evening ends up being the beginning of a lifetime spent together, as retold by Grandma and Grandpa Poss, who would go on to form a famous musical duo that would tour the world. Louisiana's musical culture is featured in this funny, amusing and skillfully illustrated tale in French that takes the young reader on a wild musical journey. Let the good times rouler!
The book also includes explanatory notes on the musical culture and customs of the region. The recording of the narration of the story is followed by two songs: “Viens danser ma belle” and “Allons danser Colinda”.
“Fais dodo dans un bayou de la Louisiane” is the first title from the collection “Nous sommes les musiciens opossums” that explores different musical genres (Cajun, jazz, country, rock'n'roll, blues and traditional French-Canadian).
